Rezidor expands – eight hotels in SA
 The Rezidor Hotel Group, operating under the brand names of Radisson Blu, Park Inn, Regent, Country Inn and Hotel Missoni has announced two new hotels for South Africa – a Park Inn for Sandton and a Hotel Missoni for Cape Town, both set to open in 2010. Chaim Cohen, CEO of the Newcity Group, the owner of the Park Inn Sandton, led its recent sod-turning ceremony.
The Park Inn will be located in Katherine Street, next to Atholl Square; the property, with an investment value of R280-million, will feature 270 rooms. It will include the hotel brand’s signature restaurant RBG (Red Bar & Grill), meeting facilities, an outdoor swimming pool (with a bar and terrace) and a fitness facility.
The Hotel Missoni, to be situated on the corner of Castle Street in the Cape Town city centre, has been described as ‘a life and style hotel’ and will have 157 rooms, a signature Missoni Cucina restaurant, a bar, a rooftop terrace with a cantilevered swimming pool and views of Table Mountain, a full spa, and small meeting areas and private dining facilities.
